Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Buyer to join our team in Milpitas, CA. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role is responsible for reviewing purchase requisitions, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and services. The ideal candidate brings experience in NPI contract manufacturing and a strong understanding of PCBA and mechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate, and process purchase requisitions for accuracy and authorization
- Manage and resolve discrepancies across receiving, accounts payable, and non-conforming materials
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and payment terms (Net 30/60/90)
- Ensure purchase orders are confirmed, accurate, and delivered on schedule
- Maintain integrity of all purchasing data within the ERP system (SAP preferred)
- Source new suppliers when current vendors cannot meet quality, cost, or timing expectations
- Coordinate procurement needs with internal teams and stakeholders
- Track and expedite delayed purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Support ISO compliance by maintaining documentation and participating in quality processes
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of Buyer experience in NPI contract manufacturing (PCBA + mechanical assemblies required)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and NPI processes
- Proven negotiation skills and supplier management experience
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of ISO standards and quality procedures
